　　法国著名作家雨果才华出众。20岁开始发表作品，刚刚29岁就创作了轰动法国文坛的长篇小说《巴黎圣母院》，以后又创作了一系列的诗歌、剧本、小说。可是，正当他激情奔放的时候，恶性心脏病发作了，那年他才40岁。     

　　雨果并不悲观，在医生的指导下，他开始进行体育锻炼。每天清晨外出散步、做操、打拳，接着跑步……“生命在于运动”，雨果的病情慢慢好转了，体质逐渐增强了。他又获得了充沛的精力，重新拿起笔写出了大量的文学作品。直到晚年，仍创作不懈。60岁创作了《悲惨世界》这部世界文学名著；80岁那年，写成了戏剧《笃尔克玛》。雨果逝世于1885年，活了84岁。
