When I was growing up, I was embarrassed to be seen with my father. He (1) severely crippled and very short, and when we would walk together, his hand on my arm (2) balance, people would stare. 饺子(11分)

①春节，是我国最重要的传统节日。春节的的食俗丰富多彩，在除夕夜，北方人要吃团圆饺子。

②饺子，在东周时称“饼饵”，据说因其外形似耳朵而得名。到了隋朝，颜之推在他的文集中这样说:“今之馄饨，形如偃月，天下通食也。”可见饺子还曾称“馄饨”。民间还把这种偃月形的食品称作“粉角”或“角子”。

③在新疆吐鲁番县阿斯塔那的唐墓里，曾出土距今1300年唐代的饺子，出土时，一只饺子和四只馄饨一起放在一个木碗中，证实至少在唐代就已经有了像现在一样的饺子，并且饺子与馄饨已分为两个不同的品种，连我国边远地区都已食用。

④后来，很长一段时间把饺子称为“扁食”。在《帝京岁时纪胜》中就有“扁食包细馅”的记载。至今陕西一些地区仍把饺子称为扁食。

⑤清朝入关后，满族把饺子、糕点、馒头等统称为饽饽，把饺子称煮饽饽。人们如果形容一个不苟言笑的人，就说这个人是“见了煮饽饽也不乐”。

⑥民间有“好吃不过饺子”的俗语。可见这种可荤可素、营养全面的传统饮食，多么受到人们的钟爱，一直流传千年以上。尽管名称由“饼饵”到“角子”、“扁食”，人们对它的喜爱却从来不变，以致成了过年必备的饮食。按照民间的习俗，除夕夜的“子时”，要放鞭炮、吃饺子、辞旧迎新。由于除夕夜是二年相交于“子时”，意寓“交子”。后来就把“交子”时吃的这种美食谐音称“饺子”。从此，“饺子”不仅是美食，还蓄含了美妙的文化色彩。
