自2009年以来,上海接连参加了两次PISA测试,均夺得全球第一。PISA是由国际组织“经济合作与发展组织”所统筹的一项三年一次的“国际学生评估项目”的英文缩写。它主要对接近完成基础教育的15岁学生进行评估,测试他们能否掌握参与社会所需要的知识与技能。PISA的评估主要分为三大领域——阅读素养、数学素养及科学素养。不同于一般测试,PISA的评价方法能强化对考生知识面、综合分析、创新素养方面的考查。

我们应该理性看待上海PISA夺冠。一方面,应该看到上海这些年来的教育改革与发展的确取得了显著的进步,通过名校带动薄弱学校改革,使得基础教育的整体办学质量大大提高,义务教育有了较好的均衡发展,学生主动学习、创造性学习、合作学习的意识与能力都有了可以看得见的进步,这些都表现在PISA的两度夺冠上。另一方面则应该看到,如何进一步切实减轻学生的学业负担和精神压力,仍须做更多的工作和努力。比如,让学生每天都有充足的睡眠时间,让学生每天都能至少运动一小时,让他们在课后和节假日不再在各种补习班中煎熬。如果上海能够做到后者,那么即便在PISA上拔不得头筹,也真没有什么大不了的。孩子不能是学习的机器人,他们的幸福感,应该得到关注。

正因为如此,我们应该对上海PISA夺冠保持一种既淡定又警醒的成熟心态。上海基础教育改革与发展的先进经验和正确做法,我们应该认真学习、积极借鉴,但其不足之处,则需要引以为戒,努力改进。从教育学的角度来看,基础教育是为学生今后的学习和身心健康成长奠定良好的基础,这其中包括道德素质、身体素质和心理素质。如果本末倒置,将对分数的追逐作为终极目标,必然会使孩子成为学习的机器、分数的奴隶。因此,PISA成绩应该成为一面镜子,通过与美欧等国的比较,取长补短,让我们清醒认识到,我们的基础教育仍然需要破除旧观念的束缚,摆脱分数和排名的桎梏,解放孩子,让孩子通过学习和学校教育获得快乐和幸福,而非“压力山大”下的痛苦、畏惧与厌学。这方面,上海与全国一样,任重而道远。

Reading Better and Faster

For most people, it is easy to learn to read faster. Your reading rate is often just a matter of habit.    小题1:
