        “从航天技术来说,从神五到神六是一个巨大的跨越-- 神舟五号是杨利伟单人在空中飞行21 小时,没有离开返回舱,也没有真正在失重状态下活动;而这一次的神舟六号,是两人、多天飞行,而且打开舱门进入轨道舱活动,进行了很多失重状态下的人的生理实验,第一次获得了真正的数据。”一直在关注神六每一步进展的中国第一代航天专家梁思礼兴奋地评价。

       10 月13 日,在完成穿舱实验后,费俊龙轻松地在返回舱的两个舷窗间较快地飘来飘去,拿着照相机以不同角度拍摄地球,“他的这个动作在神五时是绝对禁止的”,一位航天专家透露。梁思礼说,杨利伟进入太空后,当时航天专家们建议,“有些动作尝试一下也未尝不可”,但“成功”是两年前杨利伟执行“神五”任务时的第一要义,为了绝对确保这一要义,杨利伟的每一个动作都严格按照事先设定好的程序,所以“只有规定动作,没有自选动作”。

10 月12 日17 时29 分,费俊龙打开神舟六号返回舱与轨道舱之间的舱门,进入轨道舱开展空间科学实验。在距地面343 公里的太空中的这个小小动作,标志着中国载人航天飞行由神舟五号的验证性飞行试验完全过渡到真正意义上有人参与的空间飞行试验。

        “这一次对航天员的挑战也更大了。”梁思礼说。1971 年6 月30 日,苏联“联盟”11 号飞船在完成预定任务返回地球时,因为舱门出现问题,飞船座舱的压力平衡阀在168 公里的高度上提前打开,造成密封舱内的空气在短时间内全部漏光,没有穿宇航服的3 名航天员因缺氧和体液沸腾而死亡。此次两名宇航员要从返回舱进入轨道舱工作,舱门设计及宇航员的操作显得极为关键。结果证明,他们都毫无意外地完成了使命。

        从神五到神六的改进也是全方位的。一位航天专家说,杨利伟回来后,反映升空时座椅震动太厉害,使人体产生不适,技术人员针对这一点作了调整,这个改进被形容为“从坐拖拉机到坐轿车”;神五并没有解决宇航员排泄问题的设施,杨利伟是戴着尿不湿完成21 小时的太空旅行的,而这一次,专门为解决这个基本问题的“太空厕所”,连同洗漱、食品上的改进一道,成了许多媒体津津乐道的一个传播热点。
