夏夜静谧,只有月光经过树梢来到大地的脚步声。

轻轻地,像一个女子走在出嫁的路上,羞涩地让这个世界只剩下她的心跳和呼吸。由槐树、院落、柴垛、田野构成的村庄,此刻如同一个蹲在墙角下冥思的老人,一声不吭地沉默着。或许他是回忆人生路上曾经的风风雨雨,或许是在遐思一个又一个这样的夜晚,像一条无形的路似的,最终会把他带到什么地方。

而无边的黑暗不知在什么时候早就退去了,月光成了今夜唯一的客人。她随手携带的礼物,除了一个夜晚的安谧、平安、祥和之外,就是世界在安谧之外星星点点所发出的声音。事实上,在这样的夜晚,所有的声音都是安静的。比如说,在月光温柔的怀里,远处小溪流淌的声音,一片蛙声,还有河边浣衣女子的歌谣声,它们在本质上都是安宁的一个微小分子。

隐隐地,从谁家的院子里传来了一声狗吠,“汪汪”两声,仿佛一个粗鲁的莽汉突然插进来一句话,让你感到意外和惊奇,但又能让你真切地感到在这个世界上,还有声音的存在。

我们一家人在院子里乘凉。轻风像一壶老酒,把门前的几棵柳树灌得有点微醉,细小的枝叶摆来摆去,像迈着小醉的步子走在回家路上的旅人。父亲就在这个时候才显出他内心深处慈祥的一面,宽手巴掌在我的头上摸来摸去,并给我讲着小故事。我听着听着,往往就睡着了。一觉醒来,又是新的一天。而母亲,总是不时地从家中的洋芋窖里拿出一个大大的西瓜,切开,把最大最红的一牙给我。之后,她就坐在黄昏时早就铺开在院子里的一块凉席上,借着月色,一针一线地纳着布鞋。偶尔,她也唱起儿歌。我从来都不知道,母亲的声音竟然是如此地美!多年之后,母亲唱的儿歌,仍能感动我,让我在这样一个声音混杂的年代里,能够分辨出什么才是真正的音乐。

长大一些,我就不是如此地听话了。总是在暮色四合月光如水的时候出门,因为有很多伙伴在外面等着我。我们一起跑到村边的柴垛前,玩起了只属于我们自己的游戏,比如跑电、斗鸡、捉迷藏……

再后来,我对于夏夜的星空充满了无限的眷恋和敬畏。星空给我的,不只是辽阔、干净,更多的则是一种心灵的开阔。康德说:世界上只有两件东西最能深深的震撼我们的心灵,一件是我们心中崇高的道德法则;一件是我们头顶上灿烂的星空。我相信这句话,因为每当我一个人注视着星空的时候,我的心中总是受到一种有力的震撼。什么是和平,什么又是爱,它们不是在高远的天空给了我答案吗?我也就由此而不由自主地憎恨起闪电和暴雨。

世界是和平的,人间原来也是安静的,无数的夏夜就是和平安静的一部分,那辽阔天际上布满的星子,像神写下的文字,逼迫着你用一生的长度去慢慢地阅读和体味。而我们人类来到这个世上,其实也只是沉默世界中极其微小的一分子,我们默默地来了,又默默地走了,悄无声息,像一个又一个夏夜,在悄无声息中完成了自己的使命。

Realizing that his students need to be taught important life lessons more than the curriculum he has been handed to teach them, he throws out the lesson plans and makes a real impact on their personal lives.

Mr. Holland's Opus

This memorable movie gives all teachers hope that they truly have an impact on their students. Richard Dreyfuss is wonderful as a musician/composer who must take a teaching job to support his family. In the end, Dreyfuss' character realizes that he has had as much if not more of an impact from his teaching ashe would have as a composer.
